Okay, I'm calling in some favors from the more fashion minded. Or maybe I'm just looking for help because as a Taurus near Gemini, I am stubbornly indecisive. Either way, I'm trying to decide on what to do with my hair for my best friend's wedding. I know I'd like an up-do, and I'm leaning toward a style that isn't too...tight? Probably wrong word ( Read more... )

When I went to Lissy's wedding, she brought in a Renaissance braider and did my hair. If there's a way you could do something with braids, that'd be really fun!

Knowing your face shape and hair texture, I would recommend a high-on-the-head bun in sort of a Gibson Girl fashion. That's where the head of hair is kinda puffy. But Gibson Girl is a bit extreme-puffy, so you don't want to go completely accurate. And maybe something like a simple bun cage, too. Lemme dig up some links...

And because it's one of my favorite styles: The ribbon braid! Frenchbraid your hair in either one or two braids, wrap it (them) around your head like a wreath, then pick a ribbon and use one of those large plastic sewing needles to sew it to your head. I did something similar to this to Laura for our senior project, and it turned out great! Examples with instructions:

Fashion it all into a giant pointy spike. mizunol October 12 2005, 20:16:17 UTC
Then you can run around the wedding screaming "I'm a unicorn!"

It's worth a shot.

first suggestion - gather your hair in one hand at the nape of your neck, twist it a few times and then flip it up (so the ends of your hair are now flopped onto your face ^_^). Twist it a little more untill the hair is... like this except the end is still flopped in your face. you pin part of in to the back (not the top, that looks bad) of your head with either combs or pins, whichever, and then probably a clip at the top. then let the rest of your hair fall naturally for a kinda messy young look. googling "french twist" the name of the twisted part of the hair style, will find you directions and pictures aplenty ( ... )
