Memoirs of a street dweller

Sooo, as it turns out, my lease is up on June 30th, which I had thought to be up somewhere in August. Oops. Blake is leaving to Germany as soon as July 1st, and I haven't got anywhere else lined up. Basically, I'm a little fucked... in a big way. I very picky when it comes to searching for a new place, that and without wheels, it makes it a bit ( Read more... )

The bus really isn't THAT bad, ya know.

My suggestion would be to buck up and get yourself a license and a car or give in and ride the flippin bus instead of relying on other people to get you around town. You make life harder on yourself than it needs to be.

Only problem is, lack of cash, which is why I am even moving in the first place. The only people I really 'rely' on are people that are there to be relied on. I never ask anyone to go out of there way for me, or even ask many people to do squat for that matter. I know when charity becomes a hassle, and never let it get to that point.

I think it's more a matter of priorities though. If you really wanted a vehicle, you could make it work. We are living on only Jz0's paycheck with health insurance, insurance on 2 vehicles, payments on 2 vehicles, my student loan payments, rent, phone, and food, and we're still making ends meet. It just seems like you care too much about having cool toys. I got really burnt out always being the one to drive, and that's part of why I rarely want to hang out anymore.

Just because you don't utter the phrase "Would you mind picking me up" doesn't mean that there's not still an unspoken need there. Your not having any other means of transportation IS asking people to cater to you because none of us want to be responsible for making you walk in the Phoenix heat. None of the rest of us are made of money, and most of us don't make any more than you do, but we still manage to make things work.

(And you still didn't address what your aversion to the bus is all about.)

Apparently Justin makes a very nice sum of money, if all of that is possible. Kudos to him for being able to take care of his wife. And all of my 'cool toys' are necessary when no one can seem to take a second out of their busy lives to spend time with me, regardless of whether a car is even necessary to do so. And since I'm not juggling various payments, I wouldn't understand what it is to have a real life ( ... )
