He comes through the window in his usual silence, but he's quick to announce himself with a grin and a quiet, "Hey." Slipping onto the bed with her, he kisses her cheek, resisting the ever present urge to spread his hand across her stomach and say hello to the baby, too. It'd taken an angry smack to learn that she's a 'person and not a freaking incubator, Jason', but learn it he has, and contents himself with gathering Lux near, taking care not to wrinkle the newspaper. "Talking to your mom?"

Ignoring the twist in her gut, Lux takes one brief moment more to contemplate the picture of Cate and Ryan in her hand, and then sets the clipping carefully upon the nightstand. Never could she have imagined that telling Jason she isn't pregnant would be as difficult as telling him she was. This is the best thing for them right now, she's absolutely certain of that, but she hates disappointing him. He'd been so happy.
"I, um," she begins, and pauses to swallow hard against a swell of emotion, finding it difficult to meet Jason's eyes. "I need to tell you something."
