I live across the stree from Powderhorn Park. I am on an EM list serve that tells you when crime happens. I know there are a lot of break-ins and prostituion. Occasional shootings. I always laugh when people look scared to hear this is where I live or call it a "bad part" of town. I laugh because I know there are such worse area's in other ( Read more... )

Wow, that is AWFUL that that happened to you. With your poor babay boy home alone too, I am sure you were petrified, I can't imagine. I bet that feeling stayed with you for a long time, I am surprised how scared it made me, honestly. That is werid that they couldn't do a police report at all, I never would have thought that is how it would be.

I was thinking how sad it was too that I don't seem to be around my computer much at night anymore (or have much free time during the day with my promotion) to participate in LJ much and that I had such grim news to post. Thanks for your words- I appreciate them and am glad that I do have a lot of positive stuff going on meanwhile to help make this incident fade into the background hopefully sooner rather than later.

I used to have a house a few blocks south of Powderhorn. My neighbors on either side got broken into. We had security system signs in the yard so I think that's why ours was spared. But just that was enough to freak me out. I was scared to be home, but scared to leave home.

Yeah, it really does put a good scare in you, I need to tell my neighbors. I'm glad at least you were spared... I guess I've been naieve to think I was safer than most since my place is tucked away if you recall... Even UPS can't find me when they try. OH well, what can you do- thanks for your words- hope you are doing well.

i am so glad you and rhufus are ok. mad that they took the stuff and the gamecube that colin gave you. that was so sweet of him...and the games?! :( A. is due for a new gamecube soon, i'm sure he would pass his down to you.

Thanks... You'll have to tell A that my game cube was stolen to help him covet his more :P And you can reassure him that I'll never be able to beat him at any game cube games now!

Eric is scheduled to move in the end of the month. He offered to move in sooner since he knows I am all freaked out now. He's here most nights with me anyway, I'm sure it will get better. Or I'll be moving soon anyway, one is bound to happen soon.

I don't know how i missed this from the other day.... Thanks, I appreciate that. I am starting to feel better. My landlord was over this past weekend and put bars up on the window they got in through. I guess that is good... and kinda creepy at the same time. OH well. What can you do?
