I got an email reponse from Dr. Batey, who's now the graduate chair. It sounds like I will have to reapply, but that means that I can reapply for my transfer 11 hours (meaning bibliography and some other assorted extra classes). Sounds like I will still have assistantship eligibility, should I choose to trade Cowtown for K-town for a year. I don ( Read more... )

Well I'll tell you the deal. In this coming August my spot will be the only Theory GTA open. Next August there will be two spots open. Also keep in mind the deadline for assistantships is coming up, and I know one qualified girl has already gone through and done all the interviews and the ear training test. Don't forget you have to pass grad ear training before you can have a theory GTA.

Yeah, I'm actually looking at August of '07. I might start taking a couple classes in the spring if I can work it out, but no full time grad-assing until the next year. That way I also have a whole semester plus a summer to pass the ear training, if I need it! (0;
