Hi, i'm new here and i have one question. I have a nice tail but i'm scared about wearing it in public. I would like to know before I go out into the world, do people really come and ask you about your tail? what does it feel like have people staring at you all the time? If you don't like people looking at you/judging you in public, then you shouldn't wear a tail in public.

Reactions from bystandards can be anywhere from 'Neat tail!' to horrible offensive slander.

It all depends on where you live and where you go. People WILL ask, so have an answer or two ready. Here are some of my favorites:

Is that a tail?
Uh huh!

Why do you have a tail?
So people can tell when I'm happy!

You have a tail!
What? Where? (I turn around in circles trying to see it.)

No, seriously, what's up with the tail?
Well, I always wanted one, and now I have one! Isn't life wonderful?

I live in a small town so I don't know how it's going to go and if someone asks me "you have a tail!" I am so going to spin around and say " what tail?" XD

Go with friends! While it can be fun to wear a tail in public and sometimes you can have some people have fun with you, some bad stuff can happen as well. It's good to have someone to watch your back.

Hmmm I never thought of that. I don't think anyone else wears tails, suits, ect. were I live. I guess i could drive to Dallas (45 minute drive) but that's a long way to go :(

I've never had any trouble wearing one. I just tell them that I'm a weirdo and it makes life less boring. :D

I used to be afraid of wearing a tail in public and now I do it all the time! You do get the stares, the typical burst out of laughter, and the occasional question, which you should be ready to answer.

I usually just say, "Just for fun," and if they want to know more I just tell the truth and say I have a deep affinity for lions (or replace with whatever animal tail you're wearing) and this is one way I express that" and they usually go "wow, that's totally cool!"

A lot of people lately have actually been asking me WHERE I got the tail or how they can get their own which is cool, I tell them it's part of a full costume but there are lots of people that make them in their spare time as a hobby.

and haha I love the "So people can tell when I'm happy" response I'll have to try that one :) I already to the "What? Where?" + running in circles one and that always makes them laugh ^_^
