Predictably, L had been spending quite a lot of time at the pub these days. Despite his best efforts, he disliked being social, and many times he found it much more fulfilling to sink into a dark corner in the candle-lit tavern and sip away at his tea in peace. From such a vantage point, he was free to watch the other patrons milling about, and they so rarely noticed him. There was the added bonus of the waitress who know knew him and his order. He had not to order, only to sit down and wait; his tea would quickly arrive with exactly the right amount of sugar cubes

Madam? Functions at a higher capacity? Smart words and no made up sounds added on to the end for emphasis? Oh she had definitely picked the right place to sit today! She had tried her best to not giggle when he'd jumped and spilled his beverage, but the slightest of chuckles still managed to pour from the back of her throat which she muffled quickly with her hand. Oh God, he was adorable! She'd only known him for a total of five seconds and she was quite sure she liked him more then anyone she'd come into contact with yet. Clearing her throat gently to try and hide that giggle from earlier, she nodded in understanding

Nodding solemnly, he replied, "Indeed, he sounds like a wise man." Many times, L had been treated oddly for his strange habits. He sat in an odd way, ate disturbingly large amounts of sugar, and spoke in terms that others rarely understood. Fortunately, he couldn't be bothered by the opinions of others, and therefore kept on doing exactly as he had always done

Asuka looked at the rather unpleasant man behind the counter for another brief instant as she raised the mug to her lips for another sip, swallowing slowly and placing her cup back down once more before giving a light nod. "I suppose this place probably wouldn't be as popular if the tender was always a sour old man. I'll try coming back within the next few weeks." She was glad to hear that there would be someone more kind hearted to give her her chocolate fix the next few times she managed to swing by. Perhaps the next time she would bring Naruto with her, just in case she did get the same server - it was much more fun to yell with two people then on your own. And that way if the old man yelled back or become violent, she'd have a shield. Everything would be good
