I have been thinking about SCA rattan fighting a lot these days. Mostly because it's my happy place (sans the chainsaw). I have other SCA happy places as well, wood working, brewing, camping, people watching at events, watching fighting, etc

There is a social observation that says if you don't meet at least 4 new people a month in a group, you will not be part of that group in a year. Of courxse there are factors for how often ou meet and such. It was developed by people calculating church attendance and how to retain members.
