we are living in a material world

we are truly living in delusion.
we're blinded. we're killing our own kind. human beings with spirits just like ours.
i just saw the constant gardener and i don't know if i'll be sleeping.

After the movie we sat. The credits rolled, images flashed, and we remained. The few behind us got up, leaving behind a sigh and some comments, but we sat. There, alone, in the cushioned chairs of an airconditioned theatr were four independent minds, four individual lines of conciousness that at that moment, that time knotted into a single point of reflection. Here were truths. Maybe not in the complete, but truths evident non the less.
As if dished out upon their laps, still warm from the pot that had been boiling the two hours prior, remained the sticky, uncomfortable, thick realization that people are hurting. People are dying, and there is nothing being done about it.
A child is pushed out of a plane into the hands of evil toting ak-47's on horse back.
Others are buried in unmarked graves for the sake of convineince and budgeting.
And know, if the narrator may be so bold as to elaborate more upon the lives of others, they are left to deal, and to understand what they are going to do about it.

first off, we've always killed our own kind, from the beginning of man, so its really nothing to freak out about. its who we are.

second, thats a great fucking movie, though, in my opinion, not as good as his first - "city of god"

you're right, we have always killed our own kind.
i spent a really long time thinking about that movie and came to that conclusion, that even if we all, moved by the film, sold all our stuff and went over to "help", it wouldn't impact much in the big picture.
people every where are constantly killing other people.
but why?
why are we the way we are? why do we kill humans? we don't eat them or use their skins, so it's useless and kind of sinister.
i haven't seen "city of god", but i'll have to check it out.
