Takarazuka in Mawaru Penguindrum
My sister has been watching Mawaru Penguindrum, the newest anime by Ikuhara Kunihiko (director of Sailormoon S and Revolutionary Girl Utena), and has been begging me to watch with her. She mentioned that there are lots of Takarazuka references, which finally convinced me to try out an episode.
It really wasn't what I was expecting at all.
