"pro-life" vegetarians are the vast minority as far as I can tell from everytime I've seen a discussion on this in a veg. community. Its probably why they have to splinter off into their own group.

that was my understanding as well. i didn't necessarily expect vegetarians to be pro-choice, or anti for that matter,...but when ever someone tells me their are "pro-life", my first reaction is to ask them if they are a vegetarian. But I also ask them if they are against the death penalty too. To me, pro-life would mean being a vegetarian and anti-death penalty. But that's just me.

Their whole point is to try to prevent abortion. Condoms, accurate sex ed, EC, all try to lower the number of abortions. So why would that be a bad thing?

Because they are EVUL ABORTIONISTS.

More seriously - anti-choice groups claim that PP uses BC and EC to trick more people into having sex. Then PP profits off the abortions that happen when BC fails. Of course, as PP is a non-profit org they don't actually profit off anything (the money they charge just goes to paying their expenses), and their services are provided on a sliding scale of cost, but antis are hardly concerned with reporting accurate facts.

But I felt that the girl making the post was being judgmental in saying that everyone who went in, was going for an abortion.

Not judgmental - just wrong, stupid, and offensive.

Several different anti-choicers have told me horror stories about PP but I think it's absolutely ridiculous. Along with abstinence only education. Because of course praying real hard is going to keep you from getting pregnant.

There may be some bad planned parenthoods... just as there are some bad ob/gyns. Overall, PP does great things for underprivileged people.

I'm pro-choice and a vegan myself, and so are all of the other vegans/vegetarians I know in RL. I've come across a few anti-choice vegan/vegetarians on the internet as well, but most of them are just part of the religious right.
