Happy Halloween

I'm sad we won't really be celebrating outside the house this year. Our neighbors actually had a huge party which made me super uncomfortable just b/c I could see all the cars and people mingling close together - and the kids even tried trick or treating at our place. I didn't even buy any candy, given that Trick or Treating had been cancelled. But

The Addams Family is sooo~ good. The sequel is great too, though I like the first one better.

Trick or treating wasn't cancelled here, but there were guidelines to be followed and honestly most of the kids (and parents) weren't even following them so...it probably should've been cancelled. =/

There were no trick-or-treaters where we are, which is good because why would anyone want to do that considering the state of everything right now. But it's still weird, because almost no houses were decorated for Halloween at all -- again, understandable because that would be inviting unwanted people. But it's just so strange.

The Addams Family is wonderful. I love everything involving the franchise, from the old show to the 90s movies, and I just love Morticia and Gomez's relationship. They are the romance I want to experience, tbh.

Hereditary was definitely a lot, and it's understandable that it would be a "one and done" kind of watch since it truly was disturbing. At the same time, I enjoyed it because it was really effective, the imagery, the use of sounds, the music, the performances, it was all very well done. I liked the ending because, when you look at the film as a whole it does make sense it would be leading to that. All the events of the film were leading to that, making the fates of all the characters even more tragic

Yeah, the cult stuff made sense. I was just so confused when the mom started floating!

Beetlejuice was fun & creative, I'd watch it again.

Halloween was not canceled where I live but barely anyone participates anymore ( at least in the traditional going to houses thing ) bc we have this thing called trunks and treats - which is basically just kids walking around a church parking lot getting candy out of the trunks of cars. lol

I'm seconding about Midsommar, which I actually liked even more than Hereditary. Florence Pugh is just phenomenal in it.
