What do you think of the Senate and the "old ways"?: I'm never sure what to make of the Senate; on the one hand, it's a necessary, permanent fixture in Rome and I respect it, but they can be so difficult to please! They're also a rather vindictive lot...
Of course you revere the gods, don't you?: Ostensibly, yes. I don't put much genuine faith in them though. I just go through the motions.
The people of Rome demand amusement. What do you do about it?: I give it to them in the form of games and spectacles, but I won't overdo it. I don't want to ruin the treasury, as that would sink the empire and I don't want that on my conscience or my record.
So, how about those Greeks?: Interesting people, for their philosophy.
What would you like to do in your free time as emperor?: Honestly? I'd probably spend it on vacation, away from Rome. There are people that I'd be dying to get away from there.
What would your legacy be? What would you want to be remembered for/as?: I'd want to be remembered as an emperor who did everything possible to protect and better Rome. I may not have prevailed in everything, but I gave it my best shot. They cannot fault me for a want of trying.
WAR
There is unrest in the frontier areas; barbarians are raiding. What would be your course of action?: I'd send reinforcements and improve the fortifications along the borders. If they persisted in their antics, I'd send more forces to crush them altogether.
You learn of a revolt in the provinces, led by one of your generals. What do you do?: I'd investigate the reasons behind the revolt. If I feel they can be resolved or reconciled in some way, I would replace the general but let him live. If not, I'd have him executed. Simple as that.
Overall, how would you feel about your role as supreme commander of the legions?: I take it seriously and do my best in that role, but it's not something that I particularly enjoy.
