IMPERATOR
What do you think of the Senate and the "old ways"?: I'm more accepting of the Senate than any thought of opening Rome's doors to a lack of an able administration. We always need people in a place of power to run and oversee things. But corruption does corrode everything over time, so I guess I'll have them see my way and try to understand their own motivation in turn. I see the Senate as a needed governing body, which could only be made greater if integrity and virtues of its leadership would be exemplary to all. Not that I look for it, but it's nice if it's there.
Of course you revere the gods, don't you?: Not so much into exalted worshiping, but it only makes sense the gods would be on our side. If it's a good motivator and morale boost for the men, for the people who need a voice from heaven to do the job right, then yes, I shall revere these gods for their sake, for giving faith to those who need them.
The people of Rome demand amusement. What do you do about it?: The people themselves have a hand in shaping what Rome is going to be. I'll have festivals, plays, events for them to enjoy. If blood of another's and a battle of wild beasts or man against man are what triggered their joy, then.. I will deliver it! I will respect the fight itself and the death that comes with it, but I will not take lightly to the slaughter of those too weak, helpless and unwilling to fight. Be it gladiators or prisoners, only able-bodied warriors will take their last stand on the arena for a fight to the death, no one else.
So, how about those Greeks?: A cultured people, graced by many a great mind, though not without its own share of bloodlust, turbulence and wars. I like them well enough.
What would you like to do in your free time as emperor?: I'll practice my swordsmanship, attend the circus, be closer to the citizenry. Talk to my generals about life, their family and such. Immerse myself in projects, think of ways to hold off the enemies or attain more lands. I'd fill my spare time with worthwhile things I can do as emperor as well as spending time with the people around me.
What would your legacy be? What would you want to be remembered for/as?: That I did what I could as a person, though in reality I know I could have done more. I'd be remembered as bringing stability to the country and for making some conquest of my own. I'd be someone who's a good friend and as ruthless and loving as they could remember me. And my simple wish for Rome will be inherited by my generals, advisors, staff and all those with a strong love for the nation. To strengthen the pride and glory of the empire! And what proud Roman wouldn't want their nation to last forever?
WAR
There is unrest in the frontier areas; barbarians are raiding. What would be your course of action?: Overwhelm them with superiority in tactical and numbers. Offer them the hospitality of Rome and to serve under the empire. If they accept, I'd hold it to my word that I'd provide for them. Refuse the offer, I'll attest to their way of life and have them all killed accordingly.
You learn of a revolt in the provinces, led by one of your generals. What do you do?: Take immediate action and release the might of the military onto them. Try to realize the reason for the unrest and like a tidal wave, put a stop to it. As for my general, I'd be sad if he's a friend, but what's done is done. No mercy for treason, he has to die. I'll pardon the surviving ones who help instigated or under orders for the revolt since I don't want the nation in turmoil or pull down the military. I'll have the affected provinces noted it as a personal tragedy to me, and have peace gradually restored.
Overall, how would you feel about your role as supreme commander of the legions?: A part of me would be proud of the position, and the other part would start to ask for more. Of myself and of the legions that carries the Roman pride. The acquired role is only a means to an end, I'd want to be stronger for Rome, and for Rome to be stronger, growing steadily and more unstoppable, so we can protect what meant most to us.
Anything else you think we should know?: Nothing I feel are too important. Thanks for the time! ♥
