Werrand: The Province of Werrand is the seat of power in Dagaria. With two rivers running through it, the land is lush and fertile, but the true crown jewel is the Imperial City itself. Resting upon a giant plateau of crystal that rises up like the hand of God, the Imperial City is the center of culture and technology in Dagaria.

The City itself is powered by the crystal plateau upon which it rests, giving magical light and heat to every home in the city. It boasts a bustling marketplace and magitek research laboratory, the finest library and university of magic and technology, as well as the largest Airship port in Dagaria and the Cathedral that serves as the church's main headquarters.

The center of of Imperial City is the Imperial Palace, a sprawling complex of grandeur and austerity. There are extensive guest quarters that can house visiting dignitaries, any important member of a Kingdom who wishes to stay in the Imperial City will be provided lodging, as well as a large throne room where the emperor holds court with the dignitaries of the various kingdoms.

Due to the high priority on land, while homes are available for characters within the Imperial City, Estates are not. Also due to the expense of property within the Imperial City, standard homes are only available to rank 2 characters and manors are only available to rank 3 characters.

Galumond: Galumond is a rich province where the river splits and runs down the empire. Sharing fertile farmlands that run into Werrand, Galumond is the major provider of food for the Imperial City, and they receive heavy support from the Imperial City, and a number of Imperial Guardsmen have homes and estates here, but there are no major cities.

Drigloth: Bordered by the Drachault mountains on both sides, Drigloth is a rough-and-tumble frontier province, generally inhabited by miners and trappers who make their living in the mountain.

The town of Auc is a semi-permanent encampment at the base of the Drachault mountains. It is inhabited primarily by miners, trappers and prostitutes, and the population fluctuates wildly, usually increasing dramatically in the spring and summer and winding down in fall and winter. It has an unsavory reputation, but if you're looking for the best ore in Dagaria at a low price, Auc is where you want to be. The prices are usually severely inflated by the time the caravans make their way down to civilization.

Ibenna: Bordered by the Drachault mountains to the west and the Capitol to the east, Ibenna houses the city of Poennon that lies besides the idyllic Ibenna Lake. Poennon makes much of its money from its proximity to Death Mountain, it has a rich mining tradition that, combined with its closeness to the capitol, have made it quite wealthy.

While its wealth has been made by its mining, Poennon is considered to be a wealthy and high-class city. It is home to a renowned university, as well as a strong theater community. Because they are so close to the seat of power, Poennon is relatively peaceful and they have little worry of getting caught in the middle of battle.

Ibenna is a popular location for estates, and lakeside property is highly prized.

Jergeth Jergeth is a province bordering the mountains and the desert. While not heavily populated nor connected to any major bodies of water, it has great strategic value. Jergeth is known as the place where crystals collect, and much of the province is littered with crystals, and it supplies many of the power crystals to the empire.

Koan: Koan is a harsh and unfriendly province that few travel if they can possibly avoid it. With no real civilization within it, it's primary value is as a direct route to Biemas, although Jergeth borders it as well.

What Koan does have, for those who are brave enough to venture there, are camels and desert horses of particular quality, although tracking them down and trapping them can prove quite difficult.

Yaburah: While the conditions are just as harsh as Koan, Yaburah benefits from a large oasis upon which the city of Sablah sits, as well as the fact that it borders the sea.

The people of Sablah are hearty, able to withstand the harsh conditions under which they live. The city of Sablah itself is fairly large, with a strong academic and athletic tradition. The people of Sablah are known to be among the best light cavalry in Dagaria, their desert horses and camels are well suited to the environment and they are masters at riding them.

In addition, Sablah is home to a university of Summoning and Alchemy, as well as a thriving theater district and artistic community. Dance is especially important to the people of Sablah, as a whole they value physical grace and beauty and dancing captures both of these concepts and blends them together.

Chaodan: Chaodan borders Yaburah and the sea, but is far enough from the Rift that it isn't in much danger of attack from the creatures that emerge from the Rift.

The town of Daniyyah lies on the edge of Yaburah and Chaodan, on the coast. Daniyyah is a small and remote town that has a strong summoning tradition, the people there have passed the art down for many generations and are generally considered to be more in-tune with nature and the elements than others.

Due to its isolation, Daniyyah is fairly self-sufficient and they tend not to have contact with many outsiders, outside of Sablah natives. While some summoners do leave, most stay within Daniyyah or at most move to Sablah to teach at the university.

Kedyrien: Kedyrien is an open plain with little in the way of development. It has no real resources to speak of, and while it's decently habitable it is not largely inhabited nor coveted.

Poemond: Poemond is a province south of the Imperial City, and home to the towns of Legald and Galisa. Fed by two rivers, Poemond is a fertile farmland with both a strong agricultural and manufacturing background.

Legald is known for its smithies, and its inhabitants are particularly good metal workers. Galisa, on the other hand, is known for wood and stonework, and Galisa builders are often contracted to construct the homes and manors of the well-to-do.

There are a few stone quarries in Poemond, but much of the metal is imported from Poennon (the province's name is derived from Poennon, which was instrumental in its settlement and continued success).

Yheathiel: Yheathiel is an immense province that borders the Rift and the great Landwall that keeps the creatures relatively contained within it. A grim province, it is known for marauding Rift monsters and as such its people are hardy and strong.

Due to its proximity to the rivers, Yheathiel is primarily farmland, supplying almost all the food to the Riftguard who make it their capitol. The mighty fortress Nydeic stands at the north of the province, a rocky beacon where the Riftguard deploys most of its forces.

In addition, the city of Darobeth lies within Yheathiel, known as the Weapons Capitol of Dagaria. Because of the ever-present threat of the Rift, Darobeth imports metal and crystal from all over the empire and uses them to craft new and innovative weaponry to staunch the flow of Rift creatures into the Empire. Established not long after the meteor fell and created the Rift, everything about Darobeth is designed with defense in mind. The city sits on a rocky plateau where much of the stone has been carved out from under it to supply building material for the city, making it nigh unassailable, and a combination of two walls and creative use of buildings to create a defensive maze have maintained Darobeth against enemies from both within the Rift and without.

Dwaelath: The province of Dwaelath borders the Rift on the south side, and like Yheathiel it is known for marauding Rift monsters.

The outpost town of Arathiel its on the river delta near the sea, nestled against the wall. While it has some of the trappings of a traditional town, it is in effect a large basecamp, with the Riftguard stationed within it. Heavily fortified, Arathiel makes heavy use of longships to deploy along the riverside and keep the creatures of the Rift from crossing over and into the empire. It also holds an extensive training ground, and most Riftguard come here to learn the most effective combat tactics for fighting the Rift monsters.

Dalweth: The forest province of Dalweth sees heavy traffic from Galisa lumberjacks. Since Galisa relies on Dalweth lumber for much of its industry, they are extremely careful and respectful of the woods. Lumberjacks are careful to lay seed wherever they cut, and to not travel too deeply into the woods. While Fairy Rings are known to appear in Dalweth, they are far less common.

Galisa lumberjacks are said to have contact with some elven settlements within Dalweth, but the lumberjacks are very close-lipped about such a relationship and tend not to even admit to the existence of elves within the woods.

Cerirwen: Unlike the well-respected and generally natural woods of Dalweth, Cerirwen, due to its proximity to the Imperial Capitol, is more like a nature park for the nobility. There are a number of sprawling estates and not even the Fairies dare to form Fairy Rings within it. Its distance from the front makes it relatively untouched by the creatures of the Rift, and it tends to be something of a resort for the wealthy and affluent.

Lerrian: Lerrian is a wild and untamed wilderness, where fae and beast run wild and unfettered. The town of Alilany rests on its border, and is the largest beastman settlement in the empire. Lerrian itself is extremely dangerous, Fairy Rings are said to appear often and it is speculated that elves make their home within the treetops.

Alilany itself is marginally civilized, but the beastmen tend to keep to themselves and do not welcome intruders. That said, Alilany herbalists and druids are the best in Dagaria, and those who require special medical attention will often petition the beastmen. Alilany also has a strong musical and artistic tradition, but it is not viewed particularly highly in court, as the odd rhythms and sensibilities run counter to classical Imperial views on art and culture.

Gwaych: The coastal province of Gwaych is close to both the Rift and the Forest, making it somewhat difficult to get to safely. That said, the town of Caemos enjoys a fairly strong trade, the closeness of the forest provides ample lumber, and much like the people of Galisa the people of Caemos are careful to be respectful of the woods.

Gwaych is a fishing town, but has gained notoriety for some rather talented sailors. While the seaside is not extremely close to the Rift, rampaging sea creatures can often be found in the area and the people of Caemos have developed strong sailing and shipbuilding skills to match. While their vessels aren't really meant to go to sea, they can go out far enough to get good fish yields as well as escape or take down most Rift creatures that make their way up to the town.

Niraid: The province of Niraid does not border water, but the lakeside city of Onylith has proven to be quite successful in spite of this. On the other end of the forest and very close to Lerrain, the people of Onylith are reasonably close to the beastmen, and for whatever reason Onylith boasts a much higher birthrate of magically-inclined children.

Because of this Onylith is renowned for its University of Magic and Crystal Research, and the mages of Onylith make comfortable livings with their skills in high demand. As such, Onylith has flourished, with a strong industrial population that mines Arird for crystals and manufactures airships and other magitek of considerable potency.

Onylith has a strong and enduring scientific community, and its people as a whole tend to be well-educated and intelligent. While this has given Onylith a reputation for being somewhat egotistical, it is widely agreed that if someone from Onylith says something, they're probably right.

Hirawyr: Bordering the sea and the Dracault Mountains, Hirawyr is sparsely populated. Generally known for colder temperatures, the land is generally used by Onylith for farmlands and experimentation - the wide open space makes it a great testbed for more explosive technology. Southern Hirawyr has a high concentration of greenhouses where the people of Onylith cultivate a majority of their crops and experiment with agricultural building design.

Tsuwano: The island province of Tsuwano has borne the brunt of the Rift's sea assault for centuries. The crags and bluffs that make up the western side of the islands have been fortified against the relentless assault and have stood unyielding, much like its people.

The city of Rishiri stands as the pinnacle of Tsuwano, with the defenses centralized within the city. The people are master artisans, who have spent centuries refining their crafts for beauty and for war.

Suo-Oshima: While Tsuwano bears the brunt of the Rift, Suo-Oshima has enjoyed relative peace and prosperity. The islands are flatter and more suited to farming, and the people there have focused their intention more towards fashion and music than combat and craftsmanship.

The city of Enbetsu is known to be the Theater Capitol of Dagaria, with a number of schools of music and performance. That said, they are not unscathed by the Rift, and the people of Enbetsu have developed a unique combat style that combines fluid dance-like movements with ferocious combat ability.

The Dracault Mountains: A number of provinces make up the Dracault mountains, and few in Dagaria have had reason to go beyond their borders. In general, they are not well-mapped and few people know much about them. More information will appear as they are explored in-game.
