Oh, this is great! So completely believable -- that Hotch would want to take on JJ's workload out of guilt, that Reid would insist on helping him once he discovers what's going on. Their interactions were really nice, too, and the dialogue felt authentic. I especially loved “You barely have enough to be...well, to be Hotch." That whole paragraph, actually. Nicely done! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! I think that's a prime example as to why the characters go so well together - Reid is the one person (especially now that JJ is gone) who Hotch can accept help from without him feeling like he's admitting he's weak.

The paragraph about denial is sublime. <3

I was hoping for a H/R story with JJ's departure storyline. I'm so glad you wrote it. Great read!

Thanks so much! The ONLY good thing about JJ leaving is the story opportunities (both on the show and in fanfiction) it creates.

Wow doesn't begin to cover it. This played out so clearly on my mental screen - perfectly in character.

Oh, I love this. Wonderfully done. The hurt, the betrayal, the denial, the hope, the love -- excellent portrayal of everyone's emotions.

Thanks! I find it fascinating how a group of people whose job it is to understand behavior and emotion can be so inept in properly accepting and sharing their emotions with each other.
