I don't think the president does things with the express intention of being an idiot.

That being said, I think the president IS an idiot, and therefore doesn't have to have the express intention -- it just happens all by itself.

I just can't figure out, given the fact that he lacks the "charisma" that everyone claims Clinton had, how he gets away with this stuff.

(I never actually felt Clinton had charisma. But Clinton certainly had a better personality than Bush.)
