Even now I can't remember actually dying because it happened so fast. It was like I was just standing there, then everything went black...and now I'm here.
And I'm pretty damn sure I'm not a ghost here.

In a way, I suppose. But I'd do anything to go back to that day and stop everything that happened. [Brief pensive look. Well...in some ways it was true, but in others Byrne was almost afraid for how the future might turn out had he not been killed that day. Seven years of future would be altered, for better or for worse...kind of a scary thought.]

...I mean, it might work out for the better, I know. And I know I would never want my daughter to grow up without her father. But I'd also be afraid of what a new future might bring. Something worse might happen if I avoided one death. [They could've come after him...Kay might've been endangered...who knows what could've happened?]
That would be the only thing holding me back.

...Yeah, I can definitely see your point. But then again, saving a life is saving a life. Would it be better for you to stay dead and be unable to do anything to help your daughter?
