2. I've actually been giving a lot of though lately to books turned into tv shows, specifically the Sookie Stackhouse series/True Blood and the Kathy Reich (I think?) books that Bones is based on. I actually have some fairly well formed thoughts on the subject, but a lot of it can be boiled down to 'Why do mystery authors insist on writing such incredibly vapid characters?'

Just as an aside, I went and picked up The Knife of Never Letting Go and Uglies today, as Eric and I have discovered that your recommendations are perfect out-loud reading before bed. I was going to get Hunger Games and Catching Fire, but I'm going to see if I can hold out until they're out in paperback.
