This is the first poem I've written in years. Actually the first poem I've written since I started college and I just graduated. Interesting.

I crave attention like sugar
I crave attention like
I salivate for sugar,
like I wine for chocolate.
Like a kid on halloween
trading kit-kats for skittles
I crave color.

Harvesting Honey
I lean my head back opening the front of my bare neck as the words, "OH MY GOD," roll out of my open throat and resonate deeply throughout the kitchen. I'm scraping honey filled comb off a few trays from our backyard beehive. Sparkling smooth honey oozes out several geometric cones as the spatula pushes the honey and comb away from the tray. Magic is REAL
I'm walking back to the house from dropping the letter to Dana in the mailbox. I come to my door where I have left a glass bowl of ocean water collected today in a glass jar after emptying my the water from the bloddy cloths I used during my period. I've been stressing out about school and work and time, and then I'm ringing up someone with a really strong soulfull vibe comes up to my register with her sister.
