I wonder how that kitten got out there on it's own? Have you decided on keeping the critter and a name yet or will you be trying to contact the neighbours? Personally, anyone that would leave a kitten out in that sort of cold, does not deserve to get that kitten back, imho!

I spoke to my landlord (finally!) The cat's name is Emory(?), and the neighbors are at their new house, renovating.
Really really sweet critter, though. If it was truely homeless I would seriously think of keeping it.

aww kitty.
When i lived in the bsmt apartment the lady who lived in the upper floors had a 6 toed cat she left outside year round and hed be so cold huddling on the only non-snowy part of the deck. i used to bring him into my apartment a lot and feed him or id leave food out if it was warmer weather.
poor mr.toes.
people who treat their cats like that should be forced to stay outside for hrs to see what its like. simply awful

Such a sad kitty. He should of had six toed socks for the cold weather.
I think it was an accident that it happened. But yeah, I would be much more aware of whether the critter was in the apartment when I left for the day or weekend.
Kitty is on my lap purring contentedly. Awwwww....
