Slightly bastardized pronunciation of choux à la creme, or what we Yanks know as a cream puff. They are extremely popular in Japan, to the point that you can buy low-grade chou creme in every single convenience store. There are several chains that sell better versions, and then of course absolutely sublime chou creme can be had at various bakeries and patissieries. My favorite place is a small, Kobe-based baker with a few stores around the city. I can't remember their name, but damn do they make excellent chou creme. I took Matthew when he was here.
