Couldn't resist taking some more sakura no hana pictures today. They helped ease the pain when I couldn't find my classroom for my first class this morning and arrived 45 minutes late to a two-hour lecture. Enjoy.

Japan defeated Cuba, 10-6, in what to me was a surprisingly high-scoring World Baseball Classic championship. Ichiro collected two hits, including an RBI single in the ninth inning to add the first of several much-valued insurance runs (he would later come around to score in the ninth, as well ( Read more... )

So I just tapped in to "March Madness on Demand" which provides streaming video of the first three rounds online. So I now have achieved true basketball saturation by opening a second game on my PC to supplement the game on TV. I love the Internet.

I finalized my bracket for the NCAA tournament. Oddly enough I don't appear to have it entered in any competitions, or at least not any I'm entered in (it's been bogarted by an uncle, and you can steal it too if you're desperate ( Read more... )

Well, my NCAA picking is off to a meaninglessly good start as I've correctly picked the play-in game to see who gets to be crushed by Villanova on Thursday. The NCAA tournament seeding was released today at 3pm. If not for my project I would have filled out a bracket hours ago. As it is, about nine hours after release I've taken a "30 seconds, try not to think" approach to compare against the real bracket that I'll actually research matchups, etc. to try and get the most picks right with.
