It's funny how, when one comes down to these most important of moments, one rarely has anything good to say.

Japan is finished, but far from forgotten. Thailand, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Providence await.

I returned from an amazing trip (too amazing to even summarize) to Okinawa yesterday afternoon and finished packing up my apartment (except for my CDs and some assorted clothes that need ironing) yesterday evening.

Then I went to bed and wept. I leave Japan in a week and a half.

Thursday's startling and pleasant discovery: Japanese bakery chain Vie de France makes a downright delicious jelly donut. A Blueberry Berliner, I believe they called it. I approved highly of the consistency and amount of jelly, and the dough was decent enough. I was pleased with the German name as well. My only criticism would be the use of ( Read more... )
