Figured an update here was due.

After a bout of Glorious Unemployment, am now working doing IT stuff for Boston Globe.
It is entertainingly mad. And has robots!

Have apartment with room of my own (first time!) and am living with an old friend.

Life's got it's tough bits, no doubt, but things are pretty good.

Anyone have any idea what's a reasonable salary to ask for for a Lab Administrator gig with Red Hat in Westford? The HR guy seems a bit nervous I'm overqualified, and so he's asking for a "salary I'd be comfortable with". The Internet seems to suggest 68K, but that seems high. So I figure I'd ask yet another of the Great Beast's faces.
