Arthur didn't even know he was pregnant until a terrified Eames shook him awake one night and he was covered in blood, so he shouldn't care that he lost the baby right? He shouldn't be wondering if he could have prevented it, or wondering what the child would have looked like...at least that's what he keeps telling himself. So he tries to make himself feel nothing, and if that means he has to push Eames away, so be it. He figures Eames probably blames him anyways.

(I'm just in the mood for a really angsty fic.)

Oh man! Poor Arthur :( Author anon, What I love about this meme is that it gives me a chance to read things that I would not otherwise seek out. Mpreg used to squick me out, but I find I don't mind it so much with this pairing. Thanks for sharing with us and I look forward to your next fill. :)

Arthur barely managed to swallow the bitter liquid that had gushed up from his stomach and flooded his mouth. He covered himself up, calmly telling himself that Crystal was highlighting facts as part of her job. He’d housed a faceless creature preserved in brine that squirmed, fluttered around and had been corkscrewed inside him by Eames for three months and he didn’t even know about it. Poor Arthur, I'm tearing up just readig this, which means job well done. I like the little touch of the doctor's detatchment. That plays pretty on point. She's not being callous or uncaring, she just approaching this clinically.
