Bill and Carol are swingers

Sometimes I wonder about what it means to be happy. Is happiness just an acceptance of your life as it exists at any given time? I wish I had words for this question that could be accurately translated from the language of my insides.

My computer is still broken so here are various pictures of weird things from my work computer:
This is what a holiday change freeze means for your F-list. )

Actually, I would change "acceptance" to "appreciation." THEN you have happiness. Yes. Yes, that's it.

why is it so hard for people to be happy if it is that simple?

Most people don't believe happiness could ever be that simple. They expect gathering a checklist of tangible things and/or making some ever-larger amount of money will bring them that appreciation of life.

Happiness, in my opinion, can very much be a conscious choice. That fact is all to easily forgotten when we've got other thoughts spinning round in our heads...

I didn't even put in pictures of beer fridays or the annual mini golf tournament where we turn the whole building into a giant mini golf course. They compensate for all the fun by paying us about 2/3 of the industry standard for our jobs.

The progress paradox is that even though life gets easier for every subsequent generation we don't get happier because of this. I think life is just a vacuum that sucks...I mean, life brings things into it adding more and more responsibilities so time just fills up. Therefore it is not a given that one is happy even though life should be easier now than it was in the past. A paradox indeed.
