The Giraffe!

I went to Burning Man! It was a 32 hour drive out there. Very long, but not as long as you might think. Expectation has a lot to do with whether or not a long road trip is soul crushing. I personally like driving, especially when I have someone neat to do it with, and Ian is a great travel companion. He's cheerful, agreeable, will listen to a lot ( Read more... )

That dude who OD'd on LSD and visited you in the clinic is so familiar. I think it is some kind of word-salad brought on by a slight psychotic break or schizophrenic episode. Anyway, I was at this festival a couple years back in southern Minnesota and this kid had done too much LSD and was like, "EYEBROW RING! EYEBROW RING! WATER! WATER! EYEBROW RING!" Followed by blood-curdling screams.

Anyway, that lasted for two hours directly adjacent to our tent at 2 or 3 in the morning.

It is such a sad thing that the idiot-kids ruin this kind of thing with their nonsense.

DON'T DO DRUGS IF YOU'RE STUPID, MMMMMKAY?

I laughed a lot. It didn't ruin it for me as much as give me a fantastic story. I'm just glad he didn't poke his own eyes out in the desert or something.

You look extra beautiful at the end there, when you're wearing the pink coat.

I mean, you're beautiful in your pink coat and goggles, Dear, and I'm totally jealous that Sarah and I did not sneak out of the Bay Area to crash your camp.

This was one of my favorite picture posts from you. I am glad to have spent the time to enjoy it all the way though. Thank you for sharing the event through your eyes! I think I would have been a much worse sport than you. Oh, and just so you know, you & Ian will be beautiful when you go grey :)

Wow. Wow. So amazing. Thank you for all of these wonderful pictures. I analyzed each and every one (and I'll bet you have more).

Tell me why your hair is gray?

It's playa dust.

It dries your hair like straw, and molds in one spot as well like glue. It's terrifying.

Good god. I thought it was a costume element. Clearly, your stay in the desert has aged you. :P The after picture was amazing.
