That was my reaction. I expected maybe the chairman of the board, or the most vocal in keeping Walling around, but ALL of them? HOLY CRAP, THE INTERNET ROCKS SOMETIMES.

I dunno, wasn't the initial horrible decision passed three to two? I could have sworn I read that somewhere, though I'm having trouble locating it now (Help? Confirm/Deny?)

If so, then the two people who stood against the stupid are also getting walking papers. Still, I understand why it had to be this way. They were all part of the board that passed the decision, and as a collective unit, the board has proven disfunctional and needed to be replaced. Still, if there WAS anyone of courage and compassion and common sense on that board, I hope they'll stay involved in Readercon in some capacity.

They aren't getting walking papers; apparently they all independently tendered their resignations.

Also, apparently "one of the board members has resigned from the con[vention]com[mittee]. One has tendered a resignation from the concom that will be effective once the new board has been elected. The other three remain on the concom, where [rosefox Rose Fox, program chair of Readercon] personally believe[s] they are tremendous assets." [ Source]

eta: Oh balls, I can't stop ruining this comment.
