Is keeping things from someone any different than lying?

What do you do when someone who swore they'd never lie... does?

It depends on what they're keeping and how much it hurts you and whether they knew it would hurt you or not. If that makes sense.

Subsequently, you have two choices:
1) Forgive them, or...
2) not.

Whether you pick 1 or 2 is your call.

No, its not the same thing as lying, but if its something you should know then its still deception. Just electing to 'not tell someone' can be deception. Them saying 'well you never asked is not a defense'

And what do you do? Well, the big question is how you feel about them lying? Has this taken away trust? Can you forgive them? Can you trust them again? You would never ask this question if it hadn't already affected the way you used to trust this person. You have to figure just how significant it is to you. Is it a deal-breaker? Is it something you can get over if they prove that you can trust them again? Is it not that big a deal?
