I come home in 17 days and I feel ashamed of the fact that I'm happy to leave...I'm also ashamed of the fact that I've been counting down the days. Isn't it ironic that the UN marked today World Water Day and Calcutta has been out of water for the past 5 days or so? A huge pipe bringing water into the city has broken...so a man has to carry buckets of water from a local reservoir to our house a couple times a day. It sucks.

Within one year I have been to three oceans:

Last Spring Break I went to Stinson Beach with my brother in San Francisco.

Jersey shore several times over the summer.

This past week went to Orissa and swam in the Indian Ocean.

P.S. Three more weeks from Saturday until I come home.

Today during service it finally hit me that I'm leaving in only a few weeks. When I realized it my eyes welled up with tears...several times through the day. It hit me when Naida was trying to jump on me while Sarita had her arms around my waist. It hit me when Pooja was giving me the biggest hug she's ever given me. I got my nose pierced yesterday! Anna and I went to this reputable jewelry store out by New Market. I opted to go first because I knew if I had to sit there and wait I would vomit. This weekend we went to a town called Purulia out in Western West Bengal. We took an overnight train ride to get there Saturday evening and returned on a morning train at around 11:30am.
