Ok. So everyone's heard by now of the tragic death of "Croc Hunter" Steve Irwin. I'm actually sad about it, so don't expect any snark. However, I do have a question for you all.
It's always been Steve's attitude that no matter what happens, he wanted the cameras to keep rolling. He even had a camera crew present at the birth of his daughter, heh. But I don't know whether that means he thought all that footage should be released to the public... I went with "yes" because it's something his wife Terri has been discussing with TV networks for years (and she was in favour of it, though I haven't heard any comment by her since his death), but I don't know whether I'd want to watch it myself. Having read many, many stories on the incident, I have a pretty good mental image of what happened already, and I don't think I actually need to watch the footage.
Yeah, she was hiking in Tasmania with the kids, and it's mostly wilderness down there so it's difficult to get phone reception. :/
They did manage to get in contact with her on the day it happened, but not until a few hours after the story was all over the net. I thought that was so sad, but at least by the time she got back home, plenty of people would have already left their tributes at the gates of the zoo.
Well, does your husband get his kicks out of doing dangerous things on television?
Also-Don't call me a twit. How was I supposed to know who your husband is? I'm not deeply familiar with all the friends of people on my f-list. At least I didn't insult you.
My guess is that the wife will release it because he would have wanted it released. However, I'm not sure that they would show it, at least not in the states. Hard to say though.
Do you mean the film he was working on at the time of his death or a film about his life and death? Or do you mean the clip of him actually being pierced by the stingray
( ... )
It's odd... if he was shot they would play it again and again... I mean they do that with that president and didn't they also show the shooting of the beatle? It's a tough desision on whether to show it or not.
