Cool, another knitter! Superb news :D Not that I'm biased or anything...
Have you joined Ravelry yet, btw? I heartily recommend it for *all* knitters, newbies and oldbies alike. It's worth it just for the free pattern database, all the tips and the yarns you can peek at and that's before you get lost in all the message boards and so on...

I have joined Ravelry - if only because I was searching for new patterns! Some of them are beautiful, and o! the yarns I wish to use... some of the colourways are simply gorgeous. I want to touch them all so much it's verging on the inappropriate :D

Ah, and so is stash born :D (says the person whose stash is in three boxes holding up her bed, has a shelf of knitting books and magazines, not to mention a mini drawer set of crafting supplies, straights and circulars.) The next stage is snooping for people who will trade or sell from their Rav stash; searching ebay and google for reduced price packs of your new favourites and sneaking to your LYS to pet the yarn on the sly. Don't worry, we've all done it. It's perfectly natural to want to cuddle Noro Silk Garden and Malabrigo (well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.) In the meantime, Cascade 220 rocks-even I, backwards Anglo European knitter, have heard of and bow down to it.
