Ride or Die, H/Hr, even if we're NOT canon.

Yes, I know. I'm probably going to get called stupid by some, and idiotic by others...in addition to the word Delusional that has been thrown at my ship already in an uncalled for measure.

No. Ship. Is. Sunken. Until. Those. That. Ship. It. Leave. Fandom. Completely.

And y'know something?

I'm not going anywhere.Because this ship is effing ( Read more... )

jkr, h/hr, interviews, canon? who cares!

When I was spoiled for HBP about the Harry/Ginny ship, I felt the same way. That ship is the only canon-possible ship that I've said all along that I cannot tolerate, and that's becuase I think it's insulting to Ginny and that JKr really messed up her characterization (telling us how cool ginny got through everyone else's eyes instead of harry seeing it, blowing off that chance for them to bond over being both overpowered by tom).... I'm glad I was spoiledf or that and knew about it for a few days, because by the time I had the book in my hands I was able to accept it. So yeah, I understand how you feel. But give yourself osme time, and look at the books for Harry and his story, and how he has two best friends by his side that will do anything for him and go anywhere with him becuase they love him.

Thank you so much for comment. My mind has gotten clouded with the shipping side of HP. Hopefully one day when I've calmed down, I can look past that and love the books just as much I used too. It's hard, but I love H/hr to back down.

Well, I started to get the R/Hr vibe in PoA when Ron and Hermione were fighting about Scabbers and Crookshanks. Both of them seemed to be taking it really far to heart, a bit moreso than if it's just been a friend being crappy.

I'm completely down with shipping whatever the hell we like, though. I mean, dude, changing canon is what fanfiction is about.

What gets me is that people have always tried throwing Canon in people's faces, thinking that that would change everyone's opinions.

But, yeah, ship whatever you want. That's part of the fun, being creative and not following along with Canon.

I think I'll become a Fanon-ho. *laugh*

Granted, I try to get where I'm going from canon, and am a bit of a canon whore. I think the fun, and the challenge, of fanfiction is to take existing characters and get where you want to go. Like, current canon shows Ron and Hermione are interested in each other. How do you get from there to Hermione being with Harry? Well, you start by exploring what there is in Hermione's character that attracts her to Ron, and what might get old or wear thin - not in the "Ron was too big a dumbass so she dumped him" sense, but more in the "She loved Ron, but she didn't love how he would never, not once, leave the last of the juice for her. It was a tiny thing, but the inconsiderate and casual disrespect inherent in the act was like a tiny crack in a firmament that then causes a giant earthquake." Does that make sense? Instead of bashing one character, figure out why these two people might break up. What if Hermione wants to attend a muggle university? Ron would have trouble with the concept and bingo, instant conflict. Plus, these are ( ... )

Sorry to jump into the comment-conversation like this, but I completely agree with you, 100%. I love the way you explain the connection between canon and fanon.

"She loved Ron, but she didn't love how he would never, not once, leave the last of the juice for her. It was a tiny thing, but the inconsiderate and casual disrespect inherent in the act was like a tiny crack in a firmament that then causes a giant earthquake."

Er, take any requests? If so, would you mind writing a fic that expands on this? Or, if you already have, would you be so kind and link me? I really like the way you put that, and would love to see a fic based on or expanded from it. :D

I know how you are feeling right now, really. Why, you ask?

Because I am a loyal Charlie Weasley/Nymphadora Tonks shipper. They make so much sense to me.

And the basic feeling I get from the fandom in general is that I'm crazy because Remus/Tonks is now canon.

It may be canon right now, but it just doesn't feel right...

i agree. emmerson calling us delusional and laughing about it was uncalled for. as for h/g. I was somewhat upset maybe a little disgusted by it, but I was able to read the book without putting it down. It'll take some time to sink in for me. As for the last book, if harry ends up sacrificing himself for ginny. Well lets just not speak of that.
