This year I have SO much to be thankful for, and it feels so nice.

Tomorrow we're meeting some of Michael's family for a Thanksgiving feast at a local eatery. I enjoy the food there, so I'm excited about that, BUT I wish I would have thought to order one of those "we cook your entire Thanksgiving Dinner for you" meals from Safeway as well. We did that once before and they do a really nice job. The way I see it, ( Read more... )

Re: Thanksgiving Feasts:

Go to your in-laws and let them take care of YOU. I'm sure this whole Orphan Thanksgiving Feast (the ex calls it that too, and holds one every year on Friday) is the product of an eruption of euphoria and good vibes that you're feeling, but really...it's you that should be on the receiving end of such help right about now. Heh heh, save some energy for you and Young Michael. Great Hod, just doing all the dishes... at 35 weeks? You'll be thankful after dinner when you see your relatives' dish pile that you missed your "opportunity" this year!

Of course not, you're a "P"! It's a good thing. ; )

Re: Baby thermometers:

The best thermometers are those infra-red ones that take your temperature by reading it from in your ear. Then there's need to worry about glass or performing "invasive medical procedures" on the little guy.

Re: Steam Vac:

Sounds like a good idea. Mr. Pirate is on the ball on that one. Good thinking.

P is for Perceivers montecristo November 23 2006, 22:06:54 UTC
From the Myeyers-Briggs Type Indicator article on Wikipedia:
Judging and Perceiving reveals the specific attitudes of the [Jungian personality] functions. J or P records which of the strongest of the judging functions or perceiving functions is outwardly displayed. (The terminology may be misleading for some-the term "Judging" does not imply "judgmental", and "Perceiving" does not imply "perceptive ( ... )

Oh, and we bought a big old package of that "Purell" germ killing gel stuff at Costco which contains several bottles of the stuff. Actually washing your hands is a more effective means of eliminating germs, but I intend to make everyone who wants to man-handle baby Michael use the stuff prior to doing so.

You arent having a baby shower?? How come? I had a baby shower with my first and didnt get to have one with my second (because they were so close, my mom thought it might be rude to have another one since people just forked out for my first) and I'm so glad I had one. It was great....all of it ( ... )

I semi explained some of the reasons that I'm not having a baby shower in my last entry. Also, most importantly, I don't think I can handle the social pressure with all the fatigue (etc) I've been dealing with.

Mainly, I feel weird contacting people I haven't spoken to in aaaaaaaaggggeeees and asking them to buy gifts for my son. I feel that if people want to welcome a new child into this world that they should do it even if there is no official party, ya know? I just can't handle it right now.

Happy Thanksgiving.

you might just want to consider talkikng to your landlord anyway. your $1oo towards new carpets might be just the incentive he/she needs..... yeah I know you didin't mention 100... but if you can get NEW..... might be BEST vs. second best which i think michael has nailed.
