What a week last week was! Oi! I won't go into it too much right now, but suffice it to say it was a stressful one. I was almost induced last Tuesday, but was eventually sent home after spending 8+ hours in the hospital. Oh, honey, I'm just so glad that is over ( Read more... )

Think of it as the baby shower you should have got. Friends and family want to be part of welcoming new life into the world. This certainly is an private and intimate joy for two, ultimately, and for the most part, but everyone likes to participate a little bit, from the sidelines, as it were, in welcoming new members into the human community. Life is a beautiful thing that is meant to be shared.

It is so good to hear that you are doing well. It is difficult to read of your adventure and not be affected as well with a little vicarious anticipation. You may have no idea how many people are thinking of you and wishing you well, but no doubt they are. Reading your journal entries has brought to mind the days when my own daughters were born and the day when I joined the parents' club. I'm happy that you've joined too -- you're just the kind of person the organization needs! I keep wondering when exactly the day will be that you announce Young Michael's zeroth birthday.
