Birthdays sometimes lead to reflection, so I re-read a lot of my journal recently. One thing I've really begun to dislike about my journal is that as time went by I began only making posts when I was stressed out and worried about things. Don't get me wrong, I think that it's entirely healthy to write about things that are bothering you, to help ( Read more... )

I watch it faithfully. All of the HBO Original Series are amazing, but Rome is particularly brilliant. I was very disappointed to see that they are killing the show at the end of this season due to sky-high production costs.

That said, this show is just brilliant.

Hello darlin'

That was fast! Good morning.

I'm not shocked at all that you're already watching the show. I've read your journal enough to know that such a thing seems right up your alley.

Yes, I'm quite annoyed by the cancelation. I even found and and signed an online petition for a third season-- for all the good that sort of thing does.

Alas, alas.

I loved the first series of Rome - yes, there were historical inaccuracies (which I found fun to pick out being dreadfully geeky this way, rather than vexing) but WOW - great characters I could believe in, great faces, great writing, fan-TASTIC costumes, sets and locations...one can forgive a hundred inaccuracies when something is this good overall.

We're currently awaiting the second series which hasn't aired yet over here where they show it on the BBC. Last year, we were slightly behind the States so I'm expecting it any time soon given they said it would be back in the Spring!

Bring it on!!!!! :D

Well I tried to start that journal once or twice... montecristo March 5 2007, 18:53:58 UTC
Interesting trend you've discovered in your writings. How do you suppose it happened? I'm not sure I see the same things that you do when I read what you write. I don't see your writing as bleakly as you appear to do, even when you're complaining. What you are, the kind of person you are, still shows through no matter what the details and the subject are. The how of what you say is still there in what you write. Your humor and sense of life still show through no matter that you are writing about things that trouble you. In addition, perhaps you're focused too much on negatives in what you've written. Are you really sure that there's that much complaining going on in what you've written lately? I see things plenty of positives in what you've written. In the past couple of years You've written about what moves you, about your family and circumstances about how exited you are with the positive changes that have been happening, like getting married and pregnant. True, the changes you document are stressful ones, even if happy ( ... )

I've read a lot about that series. It really does sound interesting -- almost enough so that I start to doubt my decision not to bother with television. I suppose I'll have to check it out now at Blockbuster. I keep hearing so much about this show that my curiosity is piqued. Your endorsement tips the scale. I frequently find that I enjoy what you recommend.

I'm wondering how much of imperial Roman culture they've picked up on in creating the show. I'm wondering if the people who made it caught the echo of empire running through the present zeitgeist and if this is reflected in their creation. Heh.

Just because one doesn't watch television... A recommendation for you, as well. montecristo March 7 2007, 08:45:04 UTC
...doesn't mean that one cannot get hooked on a TV series! Heh. I have a recommendation for you too! I actually got hooked on a TV series through the insidious computer. Check out The Dresden Files on the SciFi channel! I got hooked on this through web surfing. They have the latest episode for the week on their site. It changes on Sundays. I've caught two episodes so far. I think you'll like it!
