it's inexorable, that's what this is. Horrifying. If you've ever watched anyone decline, grow ill or lose their memory, well, this has truth to it. Beautifully written.

Terrific weaving of Dean's Hell memories into the story, the layering of Sam's experience through Dean's really makes the story read so beautifully tragic.
