An update, an update. I gave my talk yesterday on Alvan Clark & Sons, American telescope-making, and the role of discovery in the marketing of scientific instruments. No worries, lady! My department is called Science and Technology Studies, and my work focuses on the history of the physical sciences in 19th century U.S. I'm here for my Ph.D.

There's just something about oral presentations that do a lot of people in. I for one am terrified about my thesis defense...
