Easter Weekend

We had a nice time with the family this past weekend. Derek and I drove up to Leesburg outlets (found a few, small items) to check out the awesome outlets and then went to stay @ my sister and her boyfriend's apartment in Reston, VA. Is anyone interested in going to First Friday tomorrow? I've always shyed away from it (except the few times I've gone with others that knew where all of the galleries were located) but now their website has a REAL map and locations listed! My Mom is doing really well! She came out of surgery and was in the ICU Monday and yesterday they moved her to a regular room on the surgery floor. She's on a couple of pain meds, so she's pretty groggy, but she's passing all of the motor skills tests and even went to the toilet last night with a nurse and my help. A couple of months ago, my Mom found out she had Polycystic Kidney
Disease. This led to a CAT scan since PKD often leads to other
complications and they found an 8mm anuerysm in my Mom's brain at the
center of her head. After some convincing, Mom finally went to a
specialist that knew what he was talking about (i.e. not someone in

I don't do well with the transition from coming home to Derek and our townhouse feeling full of life to coming home to an empty place. Derek is teaching a class in Asheville this week, so I'm HOME ALONE!!

Wedding Update

SOoooo...I'm a married woman! It was a beautiful wedding, everything went VERY well (thanks to my friend & co-worker Lisa's help) and we got to Greece without any problems. i got as much stuff as i could packed into last weekend - we even stayed up until 2am every night working on projects and still woke up around 8. i think i'm just now recovering from the lack of sleep and getting back on a more normal schedule. although all of this working on wedding stuff every weekend and night is making me feel like a frickin ( Read more... )
