I went to see my Nephrologist and he said there wasn't any real reason to do a scan of my kidneys (the person that read the ultrasound said that there were too many to count) but he did want me to get an MRI of my brain to make sure I didn't have an aneurysm (since Mom had one, it was more likely ( Read more... )

I got a call from my PCP today.  She says that the ultrasound confirmed that I do have PKD, but thankfully the blood test shows that my kidneys are fully functioning.

i heard the vocals of this video on npr yesterday on my way home from work.  i just couldn't help but to cry when i learned that he was only 16 years old during this interview (and detained @ 15 years old).  i just wanted to make sure everyone had seen this information...

2 weekends ago, Derek and I went with our parents down to Pinehurst, GA to stay at my Mom's parent's house (my Grandfather is now in a assisted living community, so it's an abandoned house at this point). while Mom & I were waiting on my Dad & D to bring Linz back from the airport, we got to spend a great deal of quality time with Grandad Hancock.
