I know... I totally HATED the H/G. So forced. Ugh. Don't like the R/Hr either. *sigh*
I was a bit softened when I read the part where Malfoy was crying in the bathroom. Wow. When Myrtle was talking about a "boy" a few pages before, I kind of knew that it was Malfoy. :)
I found the Myrtle-Malfoy part very sad. I feel sorry for Draco, particularly just at the climax, when he couldn't kill Dumbledore, because he's just not made of that murderous stuff. I almost don't want to know what's going to happen to him...
In my view, JKR seemed to only have thought of the pairing as viable in the fifth book, because that was when Ginny started becoming supergirl. (eyeroll). I'm hoping she snuffs it. I was never that big a fan of the Weasleys, or let's just say, the younger Weasleys. Fred and George are terrific, and the whole Bill/Fleur marriage is very cute as well. I'm starting to like Ron just a little (but not enough to like the R/Hr pairing), but Ginny is just nauseous.
Oooh, my thoughts exactly. Ginny's a sore. Haha.
And it's so great that we see more action of Draco and even a teensy bit of Blaise!
Hey Wev! It's bipolarquirks/Yun from FA. Is it alright if I friend you?
I agree with you on most of your points, especially the H/G. (And I know it's incredibly petty of me, but I can't help but glee, because at least there was NO D/G in HBP at all.) I thought JK tried to hard to compensate for the lack of Ginny-development in the other books. I was rolling my eyes as we heard about Ginny being hot (c/o the Slytherins) and good with her hexes (c/o Slughorn).
I wasn't a fan of Fred and George, to be honest. I haven't been since the falling-out with Percy.
I think some actions of Hermione's were plausible, but others ... how jealous do you have to be to start making out with Cormac McLaggen?
Do you think Snape's betrayal was truly a betrayal? I thought that at first, but then logic sunk in, and I'm starting to believe otherwise. (If you're interested, I have a post in my LJ concerning my HBP thoughts
( ... )
Hey girl, it's Sylvia from L&L. I totally agree that Hermione seemed out of character in HBP. What happened to our studying-and-SPEW-obsessed dorky Hermione? I can understand her growing up and becoming interested in guys, but damn. It doesn't help that I don't like R/Hr.
