A publicity play after it got press I'd wager hugely. If that hit the major gay news they would be out of business tomorrow.

Oh and he stepped down from the board. He still co-owns the company.

Thanks for the heads up though, now I won't renew again in a few months.

I find his use of the phrase "the gay agenda" to be hilarious.

Usually any reference to "the gay agenda" is usually pretty entertaining in some way :-D

Well, there's this article as well: http://news.bostonherald.com/news/2008/view.bg?articleid=1113253

If his cofounder is to be believed, he's now donated the max to Obama as well, and the cofounder was already pro-Obama.

Indeed. Hard to know although the move feels largely symbolic to me. Either way, I'm sure ManHunt will keep doing just fine if they can keep their servers stable :-D

The Out article is more interesting IMHO and was pretty well written.

$2600 HE GAVE $2600

its not like he gave a fortune, even though he is rich.

THis is so fucking ridiculous. He's rich, OF COURSE HE'S PROBABLY GOING TO GO REPUBLICAN!!

Well that's all he CAN give legally (directly). And it matters since you must disclose these type of contributions - who knows what else he's contributing to where disclosure isn't required.

I'm sorry you feel its ridiculous - obviously others feel otherwise and might have some legitimate credence to their feelings.

i am not saying people cannot speak with their money, but i find it to be so overreactionary most of the time.

amen

i guess if a company that sells furniture to churches forced its CEO to resign over a contribution to Obama, or planned parenthood, or ACLU. etc... the uproar would be incredible.
