part A,
part B Part Ten A
Jensen was scared. He knew that it was no excuse to behave like a girl, and part of his mind told him that pulling the kicked puppy routine around Jared was the worst idea ever. But then that part of his mind was a bitch.
Jensen told himself that it was all right. Jared said he wanted him, wanted to know him and be with him. If that was the case, then he had the right to know it when Jensen had one of his half-panic attacks, and maybe he could help, grant some comfort or just set Jensen’s head back into the right position. Jeffrey said that the emotional thing was part of Jensen. And, if that was so, then Jared should know.
Jensen felt like an ass. He hadn’t done anything to deserve Jared’s support. Jensen knew he’d been a bitch when they’d first met, letting out his frustrations and bad mood on someone he didn’t know, someone who only wanted to help. Of course Jared hadn’t been the nicest person himself later on, but it had been Jensen’s fault it got that far in the first place.
He held Jared for a long moment. He knew this was probably freaking Jared out, but he hoped he hadn’t just made the tall man regret his decision to be with Jensen.
“I’m sorry.”
“About what?” Jared pulled back carefully and guided Jensen to his bed, pushing him down by the shoulders to sit. Jensen let him. He never resisted when those big hands took the lead. Jared sat down next to him looking slightly anxious but intertwined their fingers in a comforting gesture.
“I was an ass. I know that it’s my fault we didn’t get along in the first place. I behaved like a moody child, and I’m sorry. You already said you were sorry, but I didn’t, though I should have.”
Jared smiled at him; not the radiating dimpled grin but just a smile. “It’s alright. I already figured… But thanks for saying it anyway.”
Jensen nodded looking at their joined hands. Jared’s shoulder bumped against his, and he looked up through his lashes.
“There’s something else, isn’t there?” It was scary how fast Jared had learned to look right through Jensen. “Why did you ask that earlier?” The frown on Jared’s face was uneasy.
“Ask what?”
Jared’s eyebrows furrowed and he tightened his hold on Jensen’s hand. “You said: ‘Tell me this is right.’”
Jensen swallowed. “That wasn’t a question.”
“That’s beside the point.”
Jensen’s knee trembled nervously, and he looked down at their hands again, until Jared’s other hand slid beneath his chin and tilted his face upwards so that their eyes met.
“Jensen, do you have doubts? Is this not what you want? Am I not what you want?” Jared’s voice trembled a little, quiet and afraid, and Jensen felt a sob hitch in the back of his throat at the lost look on Jared’s face. How could he think that?
Jensen shook his head violently, blinking away the tears that dared to gather behind his eyes. “No, Jared. I want this… probably more than I should. I- I just had a pretty fucked up day, and I needed to just get away from the dorm and all the happy faces… But I want this.”
Jared leaned forward and gave him a small kiss, a smile crinkling the corners of his eyes. “Then why would you say something like that? What happened today?”
Jensen took a deep breath. Yesterday he had told Jeff that he wanted this to work out. He had been happy, and despite the scariness of it all he had been hopeful. But today had just hurt. He knew it was wrong not to tell Jared about this afternoon’s schedule, but they had gone to lengths to keep it from spreading into the gossip mill, and Jensen just didn’t talk to anyone about it but Jeff and Chris.
“Jensen, please! I wanna help. Please let me.”
Jensen sighed and leaned against Jared and found himself wrapped in those arms instantly. He laid his head against Jared’s shoulder and braced himself. He would have to tell him soon enough anyway.
“Today was the hearing about that incident with Wilson and the hockey stick.”
He felt Jared tensing beneath him. “What? Why didn’t I know about that?”
Jensen ducked his head to not see Jared’s hurt stare. “I’m sorry. We kept it all quiet, because I really dunno if I could take a public mess right now…”
“But you could have told ME! I’m- I’m…” Jared sighed. “I hoped I might be your boyfriend by now… or at least be well on the way to becoming that.” Jared spoke quietly as though afraid the wrong person might hear. Jensen looked up at him with wide eyes.
“Would you want to?”
Jared gave him the ‘Well, duh!’-look. “Of course I would.”
Jensen nodded, biting his lip considering just how amazing Jared really was. “I’d like that.”
Jared’s face cracked in a smile and they kissed for a long moment, just lips on lips.
When Jared pulled away again he pouted a little. “Why didn’t you tell me? I would have come along, so you weren’t alone.”
“I know.” Jensen closed his eyes knowing he had to make Jared understand. “That’s why I didn’t tell you.” When Jared tried to say something, Jensen stopped him with a raised hand and talked on. Something he never usually did. “It’s not because I wouldn’t want you to back me up or anything. But I want what we have to be good… I just didn’t want you to be there and hear all the accusations and excuses, to feel the hatred. That’s not what I want for us.”
Jared took Jensen's face between both hands, his thumbs caressing his cheeks. “You’re stupid; you know that? I don’t care what they think…”
Jensen shook his head. “I didn’t do anything. I just told my story, and I bore those looks they all gave me. Then I listened to all the lies he put out, and all that fucking bigotry, and I- I didn’t say a word. I behaved like a good fag and let them talk about me like I was shit. I hated myself for not standing up and spitting in his face… but Jeff said I had to behave, or the case would be lost.”
“This is right, Jensen. We are right. Fuck them!” A hand squeezed his shoulder and Jensen let his eyes drift closed. “Are there gonna be more hearings?”
Jensen shook his head. The apprehension was clear in the air.
“What did they decide then?”
“They said that it was a clear case… that Wilson had been provoked, but that no matter what I said to him it was no excuse for an attack of that magnitude.”
“So he’s guilty?”
“He is.”
Jared pulled him into a crushing hug. “That’s awesome, Jensen!”
“Then why do I feel like shit?”
Jared’s hand glided over Jensen’s cheek and neck. “Do you think you and I are wrong, Jensen?”
Jensen’s eyes flew open. “No.”
“Let’s not give a shit about them then, okay?”
“I don’t know if I can…”
“Together we will.”
Jensen couldn’t help himself pouncing. Jared being so awesome just made him all needy. Jared gave a very unmanly squeaking sound as he was flung backwards onto the mattress, Jensen lying flush over him. They looked at each other for several heartbeats, before Jensen kissed Jared softly. “Thank you.” He leaned his forehead against Jared’s.
Jared chuckled and wrapped his long arms around Jensen.
“You know, you really fucking scared me there for moment! You think too much sometimes, Jensen. You won. That means the world isn’t that fucked up yet. Just celebrate that for a minute, okay?”
Jared stroked one big hand over Jensen’s cheek. The other man was still sprawled on top of him, obviously unwilling to move any time soon.
Jensen leaned in a little closer, his lips ghosting over Jared’s. “Wanna join in then?”
A growl escaped Jared’s throat, and he used the advantage of his height to flip them over, Jensen gave a small grunt as his back hit the mattress with enough force to make him bounce up and down for a moment, before Jared’s weight pressed him down and stopped the movement. “I do.”
Jared could see the surprise in Jensen’s eyes turn into heat, a small smile spreading over his face as he leaned up to catch Jared’s mouth in another kiss. They made it last for a long while, the languid movements slowly growing more heated. When Jared broke away, he knew that he must look all flushed and needy, but one look at Jensen reassured him that he wasn’t the only one. “God, Jensen, you know I’m really getting to like these unannounced drop ins of yours…”
Jensen’s eyebrow quirked up sceptically. “You enjoy it when your boyfriend is having a nervous break down?”
Jared circled his arms around Jensen’s back and squeezed him with a reassuring smile. “Jensen, first of all you’re not having a break down… just a slight panic attack or two.” A mocking grin pulled on the corner of Jared’s mouth, and Jensen rolled his eyes. Jared could be such a goof at times. “Secondly, it’s not like I didn’t know that you were really good at throwing fits even before we started dating, and believe me when I tell you that I am willing to take your moods as long as you let me catch you - since I am your boyfriend after all.” Jared’s grin melted into a beaming smile, and Jensen could not help smiling back, even if he still felt a little insecure.
“You make me sound like I’m more like your girlfriend.”
Jared’s laugh came from his heart, and the vibrations it caused in his stomach shook through Jensen. It was a feeling Jensen wanted to keep forever. “You don’t really want me to start calling you Jenny, right? Besides I am pretty sure that there are no girls allowed on the hockey team.”
Jensen chuckled a little, feeling slightly winded by Jared’s solid presence on top of him. At least the man had the decency to carry some of his weight with his arms that were still tight around Jensen, narrowly saving Jensen from being squeezed to death.
“Shut up already, Jay. Your brain checked out five minutes ago, when it couldn’t bear the utter fluff that came out of your mouth.”
Jared’s laughter was contagious, and Jensen couldn’t help grinning up at him.
“Stop that macho talk, Jensen. I know you love that fluff.”
Jared yelped when Jensen’s hands sneaked around him to squeeze his buttocks unexpectedly.
“There’s more than just the fluff I like about you, Jared.” Jensen leaned up as much as he could while Jared was still perched on top of him, capturing the taller man’s mouth in a kiss, nibbling on his lower lip, while his hands still roamed Jared’s backside, sliding up to the edge of Jared’s jeans and under the waistband.
Jensen felt his boyfriend leaning in even closer, his need ignited by the bold touches. They had held back on the physical part of their relationship until then, both needing the certainty that they were more than just fuck-buddies. They had kissed and snuggled up on occasions, but that had been it.
Now, Jensen found himself wanting more, going further. Jared’s body responded to him, and Jensen hoped that the mind in that body agreed to his plan.
Jensen slid one hand deeper into the denim of Jared’s jeans, cupping the rounds of his butt while the other came up to pull Jared down far enough so Jensen could nibble on his earlobe with gentle bites. Jared’s sigh made Jensen’s need grow even more.
“Jay, can we…” Jensen’s voice was quiet and hoarse, and he wasn’t even sure if Jared understood a single word he uttered into that mane of soft, unruly hair. “I want you.”
Obviously he had been heard as Jared pulled back a little, chewing his lower lip as a mischievous smile broke across his features.
“You do?” Jared said nothing further, and he didn’t move at all, merely gave Jensen an annoyingly sexy smile.
Jensen looked at him, love and lust curling into a tight ball in his stomach. A low growl rumbled in his chest, sounding like far away thunder. Jensen flexed all the muscles in his well trained body to get the momentum to throw Jared off him and pin him between the cushions and the wall. Jared didn’t yelp this time, fully aware that he’d provoked Jensen’s reaction.
Jensen pushed against Jared’s shoulders, until the taller man’s back pressed against the wall as he sat on the mattress. He parted his knees so Jensen could sit between his legs. They kissed heatedly, Jensen cupping the back of Jared’s head with his hand to protect it from hitting the wall in a heated moment.
Jensen was fully aware that he was not the one leading this dance. Jared had provoked him and submitted to Jensen’s demands not because he had to but because he wanted to. Jared had proved that Jensen could not keep the upper hand if he didn’t allow it, and strangely that didn’t bother Jensen. It made him want Jared even more, the fact that Jared could give this to him, the level of control Jensen needed. Jared being so controlled, so strong himself, made Jensen melt a little more inside. He felt the urge to just let himself fall since Jared would catch him. Being with a man who could take Jensen, had proved that he could, was a thrill that Jensen didn’t dare to voice yet. But it spurred his fantasy, a fantasy he wouldn’t dare to act on yet.
He was thankful that Jared seemed to know that, didn’t pressure Jensen to give back the same level of control that Jared offered him.
By now Jared’s hands were beneath Jensen’s shirt, roaming the soft skin that stretched over his muscles, pulling on the offending piece of clothing. Jensen leaned back, breaking the kiss for a moment to pull the shirt over his head and toss it aside. Jared copied his movement before leaning up to kiss and lick Jensen’s chest, making him arch into the touch.
Jensen’s hand gently found its way across Jared’s broad shoulder to the back of his neck, tangling with the hair that curled there. He closed his eyes, letting Jared have his way with him for a moment, feeling heat pooling in his stomach and deeper still.
He leaned against Jared, catching his boyfriend between his chest and the wall. The need that had build up ever since he’d started dating Jared was pushing him harder than ever before, and Jensen sighed deeply before taking Jared’s face between his hands and pulling back.
Jared straightened his back again, coming up to eye level easily. His eyes seemed a little darker, and Jensen saw Jared’s Adam’s apple bob up and down as the man swallowed, obviously trying to calm himself enough to give Jensen some attention.
Jensen smiled a little at Jared’s attempt and leaned in to peck him on the mouth quickly. “Jared… This is not about sex for me.” He lowered his gaze a little and felt Jared shift a little beneath him.
“You’re right. I’m sorry…” The disappointment in Jared’s voice made Jensen’s heart bleed, and he looked into those adorable puppy eyes and had to laugh at how small a man of Jared’s size could look. Jared frowned at Jensen’s bright laughter.
“Don’t be.” Another kiss was inserted. “I wanted to say: This is not about sex for me; but I would really like to add some of it into the mix.”
Jared joined his laughter then, and his arms came around Jensen, pulling him in so they sat chest to chest, Jared’s legs parting a little further, so they were flush to each other from their collarbones to their hips. “I was headed there anyway.”
“Good.”
