Feeling quite virtuous this morning, I decided to work Gale and Sizzle in between thunderstorms. Let's see - I am VERY pleased with Sizzle (I had to mess with the lighting on the video so it looks black and white but it was REALLY dark outside when I did this) and her weaves. ARG! Now what?

If you don't use channels to teach weaves, what method do you use?

In the past I have just used hand in collar - full set of weaves right from the get go. I will video Gale, Kali and Cinder who were taught this method. I think I am going right back to it!!!

I never got the channel method to work. With our first dogs we used about every method out there and ended up with wires and finally they would weave. Nub and Beep we used x pens, then wires and within two weeks they were weaving straight poles with nothing on them. We didn't even have enough xpens to do a set of six, but once they got going they were great and didn't pop out of the hole. We tried hand in collar method for Nub, but at 11.5" tall he was just to short!

I am having that problem with Kat. She's not only small, she wants to be low in her poles.

Because of you, I made a quick weave video showing my dogs who learned the hand in collar. Thank you!!!
