Well, I think we both know that diseases are kind of Nic's MO. He got sick but that could be an act or a really lame way to throw suspicion off of himself. Seriously, that never works, the clever detective always figures it out in the end.

This were pretty diverse, but nothing that was alien or supernatural in nature that I saw. The Joker toxin was the only one that's not available on our world.

The card was interesting. The next attack, and there will be one, will tell us a lot. If it's more of the same, only more advanced... say poisons and diseases that people haven't seen before or are severely mutated, then it's probably just one or two people and that sort of thing is there gig. If it's something different, it's probably a group, or at least someone with more than one brain to pick for ideas.

That's what I've got.

I am glad we are of one mind on this matter. I think he is, if not the grandmaster, then at least one who was involved. Always he starts with plagues. The Denarians are not the only ones with long memories, da?

The Joker toxin is also man-made, from what I could discern. If that person is not on our world to concoct it, it would make sense that we are unfamiliar with it.

If there is something more advanced than Ebola, I will be concerned. It is extremely volatile, and it was foolish of whomever set it loose. What good is frightening an entire population full of people who cannot die? They lack logic but not, it seems, cohesive action.

Thank you.

I'm thinking this was also a test of the response times of the medical community. How organized they were, how long it took them to discover, treat, and cure the disease. That sort of thing. If more deadly toxins were to be released it would help with a time table to know what the doctors are capable of. At least that's how I'd do it. I always wanted to say that. I just felt like Batman.

I don't know if it was so foolish. People are really slow to re-orientate their thinking about death being really, really bad. Ebola is a seriously bad way to die. Maybe they're working towards an extended version of Ebola. In a place where people can't die suffering like that is something people could be reconditioned to fear.

And also of the police force. I do not particularly like how they have dealt with the little goblin man when it is obvious he is a scapegoat.

... Batman, Harry? I see.

Mm. I suppose that is a possibility to be considered. What I do not understand is how they expect to get away with it. This is but one City, inescapable even in death. No one is so ingenious as to escape notice indefinitely, not when there are equally skilled forces working against them.

Ah. Though it is only somewhat relevant - a young man has started a demonic activity unit with the police force, to which I found myself assigned. It might be useful in the future.

Sigmund Freud penned an interesting theory about why man created God to worship. Being a faithless knight, I should think you would find the work interesting.

Ah? I have not read much by Freud, I admit. Only basic theory. Perhaps you are right.
