I kept saying, "I'll blog tomorrow." It never happened. It's been a busy term, and I have learned A LOT. The last month or so have been quite intense, academically and emotionally. I sort of went into hibernation for a bit. But I'm resurfacing now. I will copy and paste from my private journal what I wrote this evening ( Read more... )

Yeah, it's quite large for a first tat, but I'm not one to do things halfway. ;) I am so happy with how it turned out; I'll post a picture of it once it's healed completely. Every time I see it in the mirror I smile inside! Totally worth the temporary pain.

Like you, I found the pain addictive after a while. It's almost euphoric. When I walked out, I wanted to go back in and get another one done.

Thanks babe! Now we are both inked, haha. Yeah, I always wear high SPF sunscreen in summer because I'm so pasty white, so it won't be an issue to develop the habit.

Very poignant. A tattoo should come with strong meaning attached.

The design reminds me of perhaps my favorite illustration of Winnie the Pooh, where he is left hanging from a bunch of balloons.

Yes, I can certainly see a connection there! That is a beautiful image as well. As a species, we are so fascinated with flight... I love that the idea of flight has become symbolic for so many things.
