When I leave my walled, barbed-wired, gated and guarded community and drive in my locked car with the windows closed into the city, I see slums, people sleeping on the sidewalk, beggars everywhere
( ... )
My aunt can't resist giving donations to every charity that sends her a letter. Now she gets an average of 3 a day and Mom has started taking some and hiding them in the trash. Yes, you can give so much it hurts.
I would pick one charity, research it to see what percentage of the money actually goes to the people/idea the charity is about and then make a decision to give, but not til it hurts. I don't usually donate money as I have chosen my charity and volunteer there.
I grew up hearing that charity begins at home. With that thought in mind I volunteer with the EMS as an EMT. I volunteer and donate money to the cancer walk each year as I live in what has been called a pocket where cancer is rampant.
yes, I agree with you. And with that in mind, imagine if we had a slogan no one should be hungry, homeless, or without education in your city, country or state?

I usually donate to cancer research, though.
