take patients, vitals, prepare charts for doctors, order/package labs, run clia waved labs (i do dips and pg tests. we don't do phlebotomy on my floor) assist with procedures (pap smears and annual exams, post op suture removal, catheter removal, cervical biopsy, uterine biopsy...uumm i'm not sure what else, it's only my fifth day so far!), clean rooms after procedures and exams, file lab results. when we have a clinic the day goes by sooo quickly, and i'm always on my feet. i like the steadiness of it. i wish i was getting a nurse's paycheck. although the girl i will most likely replace has been an MA for 3 years and she just got a new job at a private practice paying 50k. i will most likely be getting 30k to start. i'd be lucky to get that, honestly.
