Holy crap, that was *amazing*. I flat-out sobbed into a kleenex at least three times! Oh, Bruce. I love how each successive adult he meets shows him more and more understanding--of who he is, what he is. Fury was awesome, yet still a jackass, and Natasha was so kind and motherly. And I love that Tony's basically adopted him. Steve's interpretation of the transformation is really insightful, and I may have to accept it as my new head-canon. Thank you so much for sharing this fic!
